Original Iraqi Theatrical Play Flag
Up for sale is a very interesting, and unusual US captured flag straight from Iraq! This flag is original, and comes with a certificate from the US service member who brought this home during Operation Iraqi Freedom. This flag has a really great character with strong colors, and just the right amount of wear. We have tried to research exactly where this flag originated, and were able to come up with a partial translation of what the flag says :
Translation #1 :
” We have vision of a free stage at the National stage at 12:00 pm on 08/20/2003.” this is written by ” Asad Alhajre, and Rushdi Al Fatlawi”, and in bold it is written “Alhusain from the New” or ” The New Hussain By Asad Alhajre & Rushdi Al Fatlawi “.
Translation #2 :
” We are all for a free and original theater art, the Free Theater Band presents: The Hussein all over again, directed by Rushdy Al Fatlawy and Asa’ad Al Hajery, the show date will be on 12:00 noon on 08/21/2003. “
From these translations, we think this may have been a theatrical event, or advertisement for a play write on the National stage in Iraq. After speaking with several Iraqi’s, we have not been able to conclude exactly what the meaning behind this is, but still a very interesting piece of history.
